County Teams Shut Out at Riddle
Warner improves; Lopez repeat attempt denied
Warner's side played much better basketball with the return of Soph PG Shelton Willis, who missed the week camp. Warner managed to defeat a quality Jupiter team before falling in the Quarterfinals.
Lopez were without James Cambronne and Brandon Serle, and the lack of their bigs caused the Wave to struggle, falling in the Round of 16.
Atlantic play solid but also fall early
Atlantic returned to action and faced a brutal schedule, including 5A champions Gainesville, but it was Alachua-Santa Fe which defeated the Sharks twice in close games, the last one being in the Quarterfinals.

DeLand Falls In Title Game To Oviedo, Atlantic in Semis
Lake Mary Prep Summer League Playoffs
-----
Semifinal 1: Oviedo 58, Atlantic 57 OT
The first half featured a back and forth offensive game and Atlantic led 30-27 at the break thanks to a buzzer 3. However Oviedo's zone frustrated Atlantic in the third, and Oviedo led 40-36 going to the 4th. Atlantic regained control and led 50-48, with the ball, with 15 seconds left but turned it over on the inbounds. Oviedo scored and got And 1, but missed the FT, and Atlantic missed a shot at the buzzer, 50-50. In OT Atlantic again took the lead 57-56 with 15 seconds left and the ball. However, they missed 2 free throws and Oviedo had ball with 8 seconds left. An Oviedo player tried to drive through a double team at the top of the key but was stripped, the ball rolled through the legs of 3 players and wound up under the Atlantic basket where a standing alone Oviedo player picked it up and layed it in with no time left for the stunning win.
Semifinal 2: DeLand 76, Spruce Creek 66
DeLand led after each quarter but Spruce Creek closed the lead to 1 with 4 minutes to play in the game. However DeLand was able to stretch out the lead late and put it away. DeLand junior Mike Mestre poured in 28 pts while Creek soph Dalton Barnes countered with 21.
FINALS: Oviedo 57, DeLand 38
DeLand had to play another game with a shorthanded roster of just 6 players following their semifinal win and fatigue showed. DeLand tried to slow the pace with a 2-3 zone but Oviedo had a field day with 11 3 pointers. At the half it was 36-20 and DeLand could not catch up, ending their undefeated run in the league and unfortunately the league championship goes out of area in Season 2.
